CLINICAL TRAINING

Jenny was inspired to become a therapist after experiencing the transformational power of conscious, compassionate self-observation via her training in mindfulness and meditation. Jenny received her MSW from UCLA, and completed her psychodynamic clinical training in the Department of Psychiatry at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Los Angeles. Jenny completed post-graduate training at Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services, providing individual, family, group, and school counseling to children and families. Jenny then worked in a private group practice in West LA, providing trauma-focused psychotherapy to actors and entertainment industry professionals. Prior to opening her own private practice back in Manhattan, Jenny spent several years working at a counseling and wellness practice, running a meditation and mindfulness group and providing individual and couples therapy to creative professionals and people in the lgbtqia+ community.

BACKGROUND

Prior to becoming a licensed psychotherapist Jenny earned a BA Hons in Drama from the University of Manchester in the UK, and then worked extensively in the arts in London and New York. She continues to be passionate about creative expression and loves working with those who are too. As a dual citizen of the US and the UK, Jenny brings a unique international perspective to her work. She is sensitive to the complexities of cross-cultural living, and enjoys exploring issues of acculturation, identity and all aspects of migration (including the overall experience of not-being-feeling-at-home).
